Merry Chirstmas!!! part one

We are BLESSED! What a fun Christmas season this was for our family. Lots of parties, friends, and family. Connor, Ian, and I spent about 5 days last week with mom and dad at the farm. The weather was beautiful and Connor had 100 plus acres to run, play, and drive the mule. When we got home from the farm it was full cleaning, grocery shopping, and wrapping presents mode. Mom and dad drove down on Christmas Eve we went to church and came home and had a great meal and spent time together. Connor got to open his Christmas Eve gift, a Kelly family tradition. It was a Cars Leapster game. He was completely satisfied still wondering if Santa would bring his Woody and Jessie with 2 pull strings and 2 hats and a Buzz with the buttons that work (the long list he told every Santa when he sat on their lap)! I also got to open a gift...a new CAMERA!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out my pictures below!!

Just got home from Christmas Eve service!

Connor coming down the stairs and pointing at all that Santa delivered!

The boys...Satisfied with my exersaucer and toys that Santa brought

Connor has not put down the toys...he had a very Toy Story Christmas!!!

James and I are very blessed with two healthy boys and family that loves unconditional. We tried very hard to teach Connor what this season is truly about...Our Lord and Savior! As he and Ian continue to get older we hope that they embrace the giving spirit.

We are gearing up for Christmas with the Kelly family in DC. Luckily we will be flying as a family, that way we have more time to spend and not driving!

Compare/Contrast

Just to put it into perspective how BIG Connor was here are pictures of the boys at the same age. Connor was a monster. While Ian weighed in at a whopping 12 pounds and some change Connor was 17 pounds 8 oz!

Only a month behind

So I finally found some time to put up Ian's 4 month pictures and stats.
He weighed 12 pounds 8 oz
He was 23 1/4 inches long
He is talking and coning more and more each day
He can roll from his tummy to his back...when mad enough
He loves being held, especially when he is sleeping
He still won't take a bottle of ANY kind
We tried cereal and he doesn't seem to like or dislike it. He loves to be talked to and smile. Ian has become a difficult sleeper. Some nights I feed him every 2 hours and other nights I feed him every three hours. I haven't found what seems to makes him sleep.
Sweet Angel! Where has the time gone? I can remember when we were celebrating his first Christmas and now he is growing up so fast. He has is moments of terrible three's (which are by far worse than the terrible two's) but he has a sweet heart and spirit. We really have tried hard this year to teach him the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Giving, loving, being with family and friends, and the birth of our Savior!
We decorated the tree one day while our daddy was at work. Connor did a great job hanging the ornaments where he thought they needed to go.

Mr. Cool matching shirts. I can only get away with dressing them alike for a little while longer before Connor starts having issues with it. So while I can I am going to.

Sweet boy!

A busy November

Connor, Ian, and I spent a few extra days in DC with James' parents before he drove down on Wednesday night for Thanksgiving break. Connor enjoyed getting to help Grandma and Papa put up ALL of their Christmas decorations. Connor also got to spend lots of time with his cousins, Mikhayla and Kassiday. I also discovered Ian does not like to be away from his bed!!!!

Helping Papa figure out the Snowman.
"Grandma they all need to be on the same side...they are friends!"

Lots of help from Connor.

The weather for the most part was typical west Texas weather....warm with the wind blowing about 80 mph! It did get chilly the last couple of days we were there...good thing all the decorations were up!

Just hanging around...

I'm a little behind on 3 month stats. The past few weeks have flown by...we made a trip to Katy to meet our nephew (John and Kristi's) little guy, Caedan Timothy, his nickname is CT. CT and Ian are exactly 12 weeks apart. Connor is still going to school 3 days a week and Ian is keeping me on my toes. He is growing like a weed.He has found his hands and loves to suck on them and drools all the time.

Connor has become a great big brother. It has taken a few months but he is a big help with Ian.

Last week we had our monthly Tech mommy playgroup at our house. Katy, Elly, Kenley, and GG (Katy's mom) stayed after all the other moms went home. Kenley and Ian are 6 days apart and Elly and Connor are 1 year apart. We have really enjoyed being able to get together with all the girls that went to Tech together.

I thought it might be a little early for the Johnny Jumper but Ian loved it! I have found out that he has to be put in it when he is not sleepy or hungry or his time in it is short! Not a lot of jumping going on but he twirls in circles and follows Connor and I with his eyes.
What a sweeeetttt picture. By the way, we are still going strong with playing Toy Story. We are gearing up for Thanksgiving with the Kellys in DC next week. I hope to get some great pictures with the cousins, grandparents, and great-grandma!:)

State Fair of Texas

Mom, Dad, me, and the boys went to the State Fair of Texas on the last Saturday. Boy was it crowded!!!! We had so much fun. It was hot and very EXPENSIVE, but it only comes once a year so we HAVE to do it. I have to admit that I didn't try anything fried this year. By the time we got a corn on the cob, lemonade, pork chop, cotton candy, and ice cream (I had 2 bottles of water in Ian's bag, thank goodness) that was plenty. Dad and I took Connor on the ferris wheel, I rode the log ride and roller coaster with him, and mom hung out in the shade with Ian. The petting zoo was crowded and all the animals were full. Connor didn't seem to care though, he just soaks it all in.

We are at an great stage right now, I know Connor still needs a nap, but he is very good if he dosen't get one. Which makes outings easy...and days we stay home he just knows he has to lay down. I think I'll make him nap until he goes to kindergarten! :0)

Ian has become my little buddy. He has decided that bottles are NOT his thing!!! He refuses to take one, believe me I have tried at least 3 different types...ugh! Some may say I missed my window of oppurtunity while others say some babies just won't take one. Needless to say he is my side kick. Tommorrow he will be 3 months old and his neck is getting stronger, he hates to lay on his stomach, but loves to cuddle. He only takes a paci when he is very sleepy and will smile for anyone who will talk to him.

These two sweet boys make my WORLD go round! I love you Connor-Boy and Ian-bo-be-an...

MIckey's Rockin' Road Show

A few weekends ago Mom and I took Connor and Ian to Disney Live. Connor had a great time and Ian slept for most of the show. We didn't think our good friends Elly and Katy were going to be able to make it but it turns out they did end up going and our seats were right next to each other!!!!
Katy and Elly at the show!
Check out the new Woody hat Nana bought for him. He loves this hat. We play Toy Story ALL the time and he has found a lasso and can even do tricks like Woody :0)

Ian and Nana enjoying the show!

Buzzzzz Lightyear, Space Ranger!

Little aliens...We have taken Connor now to three shows, he LOVES going!

Happy Monday!

Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago dad, Eric, and James went to the Cotton Bowl to watch Tech. When they got home that evening we took a quick trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We had a great time. Mom will say she doesn't like this picture, but any picture with her and my dad loving on my boys I LOVE :0)

Connor took this picture. I love my dad sooooo much!

For those of you who don't know this Connor is living for Toy Story right now. He wanted Ian to sit and have his picture made with him.

Nobody said getting a family of 4 together for a picture was easy.

Connor, Papa, and Ian-bo-be-an riding the train.
I have downloaded pictures to the computer...now I just have to find time to post them. Have a great evening!

Blastball, 2 months, and a trip to the zoo

Where in the world did the month of Sept. go? Here it is almost Halloween, Thanksgiving (by the way my favorite holiday) will be right around the corner, and before we know it Christmas is here! Wow!!! Our month has been busy.

Connor started blastball (tee ball but the kids only run to first base and no one gets out:)) At our first game it was a bit warm outside and Connor was ready to go home after his first at bat. We talked about not being a quitter and finishing what he started. With a quick small bag of fruit snacks and a sip of Gatorade he was back and ready to play.
Connor has the blue glove on and he is standing in the dugout. Waiting on the other team to hit the ball. He wears his hat like my brother and my grandfather. A little cocked to the side. James also said this is the way him and his grandfather wore their hats:)

Ian is growing like a little weed. Still not at the same speed big brother Connor did, but gaining weight and SMILING all the time. We finally have his reflux under control (we think). He is going to continue breathing treatments twice a day until his 4 month check up. Dr. wants to make sure he doesn't aspirate into his lungs. He is sleeping from about 9:30 pm to 6 am. I can't complain. He is such a blessing and big brother is warming up and beginning to be a big help to me. He weighs 11 pounds and 7 ounces and is 22 inches long. He coo's and 'talks' all the time. He loves to be in the bath tub and kick and play. He will not take a bottle, doesn't like the pacifier, but LOVES to suck on his hands:)
Ian is stretching. I have a running rule. If it is after say 3:30 pm and we have some kind of accident and it ruins our clothes...I usually don't put anything back on him until bed time. He loves to lay around in his diaper with his blankets.

Here is the big 2 month old!
Yesterday was our first official trip to the zoo. The boys were great. Ian slept in his stroller, watched the birds fly by, and was a happy little camper. The zoo was not crowded at all so the kiddos got to run and play and we didn't have to worry as much about them than if it were crowded.

Ian Update

I took Ian in for a 6 week check up due to his reflux. The dr. is still not satisfied with Ian's progress on the second type of medicine, Prevacid. We are now doing breathing treatments twice a day to see if we can decrease the swollen nose and esophagus, helping improve his breathing. Then she told me that there could be one or two problems still causing the reflux. The first being a allergy to milk protein, but there aren't enough symptoms YET to show that is the case. The second is my milk might be to thin and Ian is having a difficult time keeping it down. So now we are mixing my milk with a thickener similar to cornstarch for infants. After taking a bottle for the first time (he screamed and cried for about 15 min.) he finally figured it out and took 3 1/2 oz and burped without spitting up!!! YEA!!! After that first bottle now all he takes is about 1 oz and dislikes it VERY much. It seems to be helping tremendously!!! He was eating every hour to hour and a half. The dr. said this was due to all the calories he was burning crying, spitting up, and difficulty breathing! Hopefully now taking a bottle I can get him on a schedule of eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

This is Ian's first breathing treatment. Sorry for the picture, it came from James' phone. Ian doesn't seem to mind, he sleeps through it or his little tongue is just a moving when the machine runs!!Mom and Ian watching the Tech V. SMU game!I know that the one month shirt is a little late (he is 6 weeks) but I just got them in and love them. Next month hopefully he will be sitting up wearing it!
"Bye mommy, I love you!"

"Mom, when are you going to stop taking MY picture?

Have a great weekend:)
