Blastball, 2 months, and a trip to the zoo

Where in the world did the month of Sept. go? Here it is almost Halloween, Thanksgiving (by the way my favorite holiday) will be right around the corner, and before we know it Christmas is here! Wow!!! Our month has been busy.

Connor started blastball (tee ball but the kids only run to first base and no one gets out:)) At our first game it was a bit warm outside and Connor was ready to go home after his first at bat. We talked about not being a quitter and finishing what he started. With a quick small bag of fruit snacks and a sip of Gatorade he was back and ready to play.

Connor has the blue glove on and he is standing in the dugout. Waiting on the other team to hit the ball. He wears his hat like my brother and my grandfather. A little cocked to the side. James also said this is the way him and his grandfather wore their hats:)

Ian is growing like a little weed. Still not at the same speed big brother Connor did, but gaining weight and SMILING all the time. We finally have his reflux under control (we think). He is going to continue breathing treatments twice a day until his 4 month check up. Dr. wants to make sure he doesn't aspirate into his lungs. He is sleeping from about 9:30 pm to 6 am. I can't complain. He is such a blessing and big brother is warming up and beginning to be a big help to me. He weighs 11 pounds and 7 ounces and is 22 inches long. He coo's and 'talks' all the time. He loves to be in the bath tub and kick and play. He will not take a bottle, doesn't like the pacifier, but LOVES to suck on his hands:)

Ian is stretching. I have a running rule. If it is after say 3:30 pm and we have some kind of accident and it ruins our clothes...I usually don't put anything back on him until bed time. He loves to lay around in his diaper with his blankets.

Here is the big 2 month old!

Yesterday was our first official trip to the zoo. The boys were great. Ian slept in his stroller, watched the birds fly by, and was a happy little camper. The zoo was not crowded at all so the kiddos got to run and play and we didn't have to worry as much about them than if it were crowded.

Ian Update

I took Ian in for a 6 week check up due to his reflux. The dr. is still not satisfied with Ian's progress on the second type of medicine, Prevacid. We are now doing breathing treatments twice a day to see if we can decrease the swollen nose and esophagus, helping improve his breathing. Then she told me that there could be one or two problems still causing the reflux. The first being a allergy to milk protein, but there aren't enough symptoms YET to show that is the case. The second is my milk might be to thin and Ian is having a difficult time keeping it down. So now we are mixing my milk with a thickener similar to cornstarch for infants. After taking a bottle for the first time (he screamed and cried for about 15 min.) he finally figured it out and took 3 1/2 oz and burped without spitting up!!! YEA!!! After that first bottle now all he takes is about 1 oz and dislikes it VERY much. It seems to be helping tremendously!!! He was eating every hour to hour and a half. The dr. said this was due to all the calories he was burning crying, spitting up, and difficulty breathing! Hopefully now taking a bottle I can get him on a schedule of eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

SMU game!I know that the one month shirt is a little late (he is 6 weeks) but I just got them in and love them. Next month hopefully he will be sitting up wearing it!

Connor's first day of preschool was Wednesday! He didn't want me to even walk him in. Good thing because it was raining cats and dogs and continued while he was at school. Not sure how much rain we have received, but ALOT!!! When I picked him up he talked about school and all the friends he played with. I truly love Connor's school. The teachers and staff are GREAT!!!

Our busy month

Here are a few pictures of things that went on during the month of August. We took Connor to see the Wiggles Live, went to the lake with Uncle Bubba, and visited my best friend who lives here in DFW. Our babies are 8 days apart.

These are the big siblings. Elly is 2 and is a doll. Connor loves to run and play at her house. He loves her wooden train set and at this visit they decided to climb all over this chair and land on the floor.

I know I've said this before but it has been one crazy month. I can't wait for school to start!

Just the Two of Us!!

Wow, where did the last month go? It has flown by. We have been busy keeping up with these two sweet boys. It has been a learning process trying to figure out feedings, nap time, and bedtime with two kiddos. To top it off James had to be out of town and work late 3 nights in a row. My WONDERFUL brother came to help out for two nights, but the third night I was on my own. I keep telling myself I'm not the first mommy to have two kids...it can be done.

Connor is adjusting. We are still seeing a few issues here and there but mainly it is when it's just me here at home alone. He does love holding Ian and giving him kisses. He sits in front of him and makes silly faces and sounds. I can't wait to watch them grow up and play with each other. A friend brought over a meal for us the other day and a sweet gift for Connor with a note I will cherish forever...it read:

This made my heart melt and brought tears to my eyes. When I have a difficult day or the kids are both crying I think back to this sweet letter!!!

My big boy's imagination has exploded. His favorite thing to play is Toy Story. Here he is playing in the toy box in Ian's room talking on the phone.

Ian is 1 month old today!! He weighs 9lbs and 14 oz and is 20 1/4 inches long. He is taking a few short 1 hour cat naps through out the morning and then about a 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon. He eats every two hours and can go about 5 hours at night He loves to be held and snuggled and is a very content baby. We are having issuses with his reflux and are in the process of changing meds again. He resembles Connor and at this point their stats are almost exactly on...another 6 foot 3 in boy. I'm going to have to take stock in a grocery store!!!!

My two loves! I looked for those cute onsies that have the month the child is on them but couldn't ever find them. So I will post a diaper boy every month with a big brother in tow!!!

Where's Waldo? I mean Ian???? Connor thought Ian wanted to play with ALL the stuffed animals.

And then....Connor had to have his picture made. Because you couldn't see Ian before, be reassured that I moved him...

What a difficult, fun, loving first month! I can't wait to see what God has in store for our lives!

Connor's 3rd Birthday

Somewhere between being 9 months pregnant, delivering a sweet little boy, and LIFE I have forgotten to post pictures of Connor's 3rd birthday. We had so much fun celebrating Connor's birthday! He is such a joy. We had his party at Paradise Pond in Grapevine. There was something for everyone. Even the adult boys found a basketball hoop and played for 2 hours.

Some things I want to remember about Connor:

*38 in. tall (90%)

*39 pounds (90%)

*and at his well KID visit they took his blood pressure 108/72

*Dr. Naylor said at this rate it looks like he will be about 6 foot 3 in. tall

*She had him draw three shapes: a circle (2 year old), a triangle(3 year old), and a square(4 year old)

Connor could draw all three of these shapes for her!!!! He had to jump on one foot, run "really fast", and answer eating habit questions for her. I think my 3 year old impressed her:)

This is Uncle Bubba's 'new' boat. This was the first time Connor got to ride/drive it and because I was 11 days from delivery I was not permitted to attend the all boys outing! James said Connor loved every minute of it. He doesn't like water in his eyes, but for some reason didn't mind being in the lake and for sure didn't want to get out of the water!!!

Grandma and Papa treated us to Medival Times. Connor loved watching the horses and of course the cool sword, but didn't really get the story line...

Ian Tate Kelly

We FINALLY have a name!!! Ian is such a sweet blessing to our family we are totally and completely in love with him. Connor is doing great, he is being an awesome BIG brother. The second time around I feel great. I knew what to expect from delivery and recovery but didn't know that labor was going to go so quick (4 hrs from start to finish! YEA) Ian arrived at 12:20 pm on July 27th he weighed 7 pounds and 9 oz (Connor was 6lbs 11oz.) and was 20 in. long (Connor 21 1/2 in). When Ian was born he looked exactly like Connor with lots of dark black hair and blue eyes.

My three boys. It is amazing how God gives love. I never knew that I could love these three sooo much and in so many ways. Thank you James for my boys. Connor you are such a big boy who I love. Ian I can't wait to see what God has in store for you. WOW how the dynamic of our family has changed...

Connor has gone home with Grandma and Papa. I was a bit emotional when they pulled off but I know that he will have a blast with his cousins and this is a great time for me to get to know Ian and spend some time recovering!

Almost there...

So our computer has the same virus AGAIN!! Unfortunately that means no pictures for a while. Hopefully we will have it figured out before baby with no name gets here. My dr. apt went great I am on my way to having this baby within the month.

Connor and I have been staying busy. We do a lot of swimming, playing outside, and with friends. One of my good friends and I took three kiddos to Six Flags on Tuesday. Boy was it hot. 36 weeks pregnant and a few extra pounds it was a hot day in DFW!!! The kiddos had a blast and I didn't go into labor so a great time was had by all!!! We are now gearing up for the big birthday party for Connor. He is excited about his "Mickey" party and can't wait to open all his presents (that's what he says anyways).

Funny things Connor has said to us lately:

"Well..." he puts this word in front of every sentence
"I will not do it your way, just leave me alone" -I was trying to work on using scissors
"Maybe not now, mom"
If Connor asks a question and James answers him Connor still wants confirmation from me. I think it's funny!
