Firsts

We have had a great start to a new school year.  Connor started Kindergarten this year and he is enjoying it.  The first couple of weeks were an adjustment for him, but he is coming around.  Coming from an awesome preschool to public school there has been some ups and downs.  He loves PE and technology, but dislikes getting up at 6:30!!!  I don't like it one BIT, either!!!!

This is at Meet the Teacher night in the library.  He gets to go to the library once a week and choose his own books.  He thinks that is awesome!

First day of school leaving the house.

*He can write all of his letters (uppercase)
*He can count to 100
*He can almost ride his bicycle without training wheels
*He can put together Lego's that are for ages 11-16 (yea, crazy kid)
*He is a great big brother!
*He knows the sounds to about 80% of the letters

Working on
~tying shoes
~showering on his own
~reading

Waiting in the cafeteria for his teacher on the first day of school.  He still melts my heart and I love him to the moon and back!  Where does time go...

This is what our house looked like the first couple of weeks...worn OUT!!!

My baby started preschool this year and absolutely loves it!!!  He was so use to going and taking Connor everyday last year that this is second nature to him.  They get him directly out of my car and he smiles and waves and RUNS to Ms. Kathy.  We love his teacher and her assistant, Ms. Robin.  He goes to school MWF and finally gets to paint, use markers, and do crafts.:0)

Leaving for school.  He checks his backpack every morning to see what snack he gets for the day.

Many days he can't seem to make it home from school (about 15 min drive) without falling asleep.

*He can count to 10
*He knows the colors, red, blue, yellow, and green (now if he wants to tell you them is another story)
*He is very stubborn
*He loves to torture play with Connor and misses him while he is at school
*He picks his own shoes out in the mornings
*He loves to play outside

Ian is a sweet little boy who is very curious and active.  He is strong-willed and determined to do many things "all by my self"!

If I could make time stand still, I love the ages of both boys, but at the same time I can not wait to see what God has in store for their lives.

Gulf Shores

A couple of weeks before school started we took a vacations with some great friends to Gulf Shores, Al. We had a great time, rented a condo, and stayed right on the beach. It was a bit f a drive, but we had a great time and the kids did also. Here is out trip:0)

Arriving at the beach.

Digging for sea shells.

Getting a snuggle from Ni Ni.

Happily playing at the beAch. Our condo is directly behind Ian on the left. Very close.

Ian is playing with his buddy, Hayden.

As Hayden would say, no trip is complete without a little miniature golf.

On the trip home we stopped in Vicksburg, Ms and toured the battlegrounds. The kids had a blast and Connor was even interested in the history.

What a great trip with awesome friends before school started.
