Its good to be home

We had a great time in Lubbock and in DC. We got to spend time with Uncle Bubba, Grandma and Papa, Uncle John and Aunt Kristi, and Uncle Dalyn and Aunt Jan (& girls). We also made it by to see Elly. She is so sweet. and getting so big. I forget how little and how quickly the little ones grow. Our last stop in LBK was at Wright. We saw Miss Trish and Miss Krista. They are so good to my little one. We had a nice lunch and visit. I miss them dearly!!!!

We have another exciting weekend coming up. Texas Tech football!!!! I wonder if Connor will bleed Red and Black like his father does. I bet so!!!

Enjoy your week.

Water, Water, Everywhere

We love weekends!!! Connor and I spend all week looking forward to the two days off James has to spend with us. This has been a fabulous weekend. The weather has been beautiful. Tonight we took Molly (the dog) for a walk and Connor was pushed in his CAR! When we got home we decided to go out on the back porch. Connor loves water. He thought playing outside naked was so much fun. When he dumped the water onto himself the first time it was cold...burrrr! He just giggled and wanted to play some more. I filled the bucket up again and he went crazy. He was splashing water everywhere. James and I constantly tell each other how this past year has flown by. We remember when we had to bounce on the exercise ball to get him to sleep, and pace the floor steadily to keep him happy due to colic.

He has a little white cup in his hands that he is using to splash with. We got this cup at a restaurant with a spoon. He has walked around all day "pretending" to feed himself and Molly.

This is my favorite face that he makes. He breathes deeply through his nose and squints his eyes. He is so adorable.
We are looking forward to this week. James has some work in Lubbock, so Connor and I are tagging along to spend time with family and friends. We are excited to see Eric, Elly, all the teachers that I taught with, and Grandma and Papa (Aunt Jan, Uncle Dalyn, the girls, Uncle John and Aunt Kristi). I will post pictures of our week when we return on Sunday.

1st Birthday Pictures

A few weeks ago mom came up to help me take Connor to get his pictures made. I needed her to help me choose pictures. The photographer did a fantastic job...we were very pleased!!!

If you notice his poor little head has bruises all over it. When he began walking more and more his head began to turn different colors!!!

Yep, we took the CAR!!! These were the last pictures that we took. If we would have gotten the car out any earlier he would not have wanted to get out of it.

James and I try and document all of Connor's milestones. I'm not making any promises when/if there is ever another one. Now I know why there are tons of pictures of Eric!!! Enjoy your day.

7 Years of Wedded Bliss!!!

When James' Great-Grandmother was alive she used to have this way of thinking. She always said that marriages were broken up into 7 year sets. Whoever was "in charge" the first 7 years, the other spouse got to "take over" the next 7 years and then it just continued. So James, I hope your run was good, now I'll kindly take over for my 7 years. HA HA HA HA

Yesterday James and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. James surprised Connor and I by coming home EARLY!!!! We ate steaks that James cooked on the grill and played with Connor. A few weeks ago when my Aunt and cousins were down, James and I went to the Brad Paisley Concert at the Superpages.com Center. It was a great surprise to see where our seats were. We sat in the 2nd row. I felt like a teenage girl again. James was such a great sport about this, he enjoyed Julianna Huff (Dancing with the Stars) and Jewel (she played all her "old" songs). I enjoyed Chuck Wicks (Cinderella) and BRAD!!!! Thanks James for the great seats.

James and I decided to stand at the stage with Brad came out...YUCK...stinky, sweaty, OLD/YOUNG girls crowding me. Luckily for me James is BIG and protective. It's nice to keep him around!!!! By the way, I caught a guitar pick that he threw out to the crowd. YEA

By the end of Brads set I was ready to come home. I could definitely tell my age. We didn't even stay for the Encore. We did hear it as we were leaving for the car.

We had a great time spending time together, but both agreed we MISSED Connor!

Bath Time!!!

This is a typical bath night in the Kelly house. This sweet little angel loves to bath until...you wash his hair. James and I have to practically stand on our heads to make the rest of bath time enjoyable. Connor loves to put toys into OUR mouths and he likes to watch us spit them into the basketball hoop!!! His giggle is one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.

His hair...ever since he was born I've always said that if he were a girl he would have beautiful hair. I've tried to put it into pig tails (only in the privacy of our home), but his daddy doesn't seem to think that is funny. As you can see he is a handsome boy with great hair. If only I could get mine to do what his does. Bath time is one of the last steps in his rigorous routine that we swear by, followed closely by bedtime at 8:00. Whew, it has been a long day, but we are thankful for everyday we spend together!!! We love weekends with DA-DA!!!!

Kylar and Connor Chaos

These are a few more pictures of the boys at our house. Enjoy!

Connor knew he WANTED in this car and Kylar was NOT going to stop him from getting in. Poor Kylar, Connor out weighs him by about 5 lbs. There is a button in the car that can be pushed to turn on the radio, Kylar only had 1 hand to dance with...

Check out the thighs on that boy!!!

Two of a kind. They both enjoy watching to much TV (more then Jenn and I would like to admit).

Kylar was glad Connor was not sitting on him. They both were very good playmates. I know I wish that they could see more of each other. We miss you Kylar!!!

A Busy Weekend!!!

Wow, what a busy weekend we just had. My Aunt Kathie and Paige drove down to stay with us, because Paige was in a wedding in Plano. Jennifer and Kylar flew in to Love field also on Friday evening. My mom drove up to spend time with all of us. We didn't slow down until Sunday night. Connor and Kylar are both getting to the age where they are learning to play with others and share their toys. It was so much fun watching both of them run and play. Connor definitely learned a few things from Kylar, and Kylar saw the fit thrower at HIS best!!!!!

For Connor's birthday his Uncle Bubba gave him a Radio flyer car...Kylar loves anything with wheels. You can see where this is going. Connor at one point was sitting in Kylar's lap. Sharing your toys is a hard lesson to teach a 1 year old and 1 1/2 year old. Everyone survived, and we had a blast.

On Saturday evening James had made previous plans for us to go out for our anniversary (that's another blog). The women in the family went to visit my Great Aunt who just happens to live 15 minutes from us here in Flower Mound. She lives in a retirement home and is 90 years old. She is doing fantastic and still takes care of herself and probably everyone else who lives there. Mom said that Connor and Kylar livened that place up...you can only imagine.

Kathie and Paige took Kylar back to DC with them, and Mom and I got Jenn back on the plane home to Fausto. James had to make a trip to Lubbock on Monday, so Connor and I went to Hillsboro to visit Papa. Here it is Wednesday and we are exhausted but happy everyone came to visit us.

Enjoy the pictures of the "Boys".
(sorry I can't figure out how to rotate this picture)
