Oct in pictures

Another month has come and flown by.  We stayed busy with the State Fair of Texas, pumpkin patches, and trick-or-treating.

A little fun with friends at the patch.

James did a great job on the storm trooper and I carved Frankenstein.
Our Sweet Cowboy and Darth Vader.
Until next month.....

This and That

We have been staying busy the month of October from baseball to football to stitches. We have done it all this month.

I don't tend to put much on here about James and I, but this month I did my first mud run with some awesome women. We had a blast and it was for a good cause...breast cancer foundation.

The before picture.

The after picture. It was about 45 degrees this morning but we had so much fun. Love these girls.

We also had out first and probably not last run in with a play structure at school. 6 stitches later he is great. Connor did so well I am so proud of him.

Here is the after shot of the stitches. What a trooper. :0)

Connor also finished up fall baseball this past weekend. This was our first season of Coach pitch. He did great. He batted 1.00 for the season. We are so proud if him. He also played pitcher for many of the games and enjoys being silly in the dugout.

Our good friends invited us to the TCU/ TECh game. It was so much fun and the boys loved hanging out and watching a little football together.

Silly boy

It is difficult to get 4 boys to look and smile all at the same time. We love the Callison/extended family. These 4 are t-r-o-u-b-l-e:0)

Having a treat at the game:0)

I took Ian to the Dallas Zoo. We had a good time together. He was so well behaved and truly enjoyed himself.

He is getting so big. What a fun month.

We have had a great start to a new school year.  Connor started Kindergarten this year and he is enjoying it.  The first couple of weeks were an adjustment for him, but he is coming around.  Coming from an awesome preschool to public school there has been some ups and downs.  He loves PE and technology, but dislikes getting up at 6:30!!!  I don't like it one BIT, either!!!!

This is at Meet the Teacher night in the library.  He gets to go to the library once a week and choose his own books.  He thinks that is awesome!

First day of school leaving the house.

*He can write all of his letters (uppercase)
*He can count to 100
*He can almost ride his bicycle without training wheels
*He can put together Lego's that are for ages 11-16 (yea, crazy kid)
*He is a great big brother!
*He knows the sounds to about 80% of the letters

Working on
~tying shoes
~showering on his own

Waiting in the cafeteria for his teacher on the first day of school.  He still melts my heart and I love him to the moon and back!  Where does time go...

This is what our house looked like the first couple of weeks...worn OUT!!!

My baby started preschool this year and absolutely loves it!!!  He was so use to going and taking Connor everyday last year that this is second nature to him.  They get him directly out of my car and he smiles and waves and RUNS to Ms. Kathy.  We love his teacher and her assistant, Ms. Robin.  He goes to school MWF and finally gets to paint, use markers, and do crafts.:0)

Leaving for school.  He checks his backpack every morning to see what snack he gets for the day.

Many days he can't seem to make it home from school (about 15 min drive) without falling asleep.
*He can count to 10
*He knows the colors, red, blue, yellow, and green (now if he wants to tell you them is another story)
*He is very stubborn
*He loves to torture play with Connor and misses him while he is at school
*He picks his own shoes out in the mornings
*He loves to play outside
Ian is a sweet little boy who is very curious and active.  He is strong-willed and determined to do many things "all by my self"!
If I could make time stand still, I love the ages of both boys, but at the same time I can not wait to see what God has in store for their lives.

Gulf Shores

A couple of weeks before school started we took a vacations with some great friends to Gulf Shores, Al. We had a great time, rented a condo, and stayed right on the beach. It was a bit f a drive, but we had a great time and the kids did also. Here is out trip:0)

Arriving at the beach.

Digging for sea shells.

Getting a snuggle from Ni Ni.

Happily playing at the beAch. Our condo is directly behind Ian on the left. Very close.

Ian is playing with his buddy, Hayden.

As Hayden would say, no trip is complete without a little miniature golf.

On the trip home we stopped in Vicksburg, Ms and toured the battlegrounds. The kids had a blast and Connor was even interested in the history.

What a great trip with awesome friends before school started.

What an awesome trip we just returned from...ALASKA!  We had so much fun and saw so many amazing things.  We ate great seafood, had a blast with family, and saw so much breathtaking scenery.

We flew into Seattle and took the kids to Pike Market.  Ian decided he wanted to hold the crab and Connor didn't want to stink like fish.  This was a very fun place and the workers were beyond nice.  We also took the kids to the Space Needle.  The kids loved the ride up in the elevator.
 Leaving port in Seattle.
Exploring the ship with the kiddos.  They both wanted to swim but the weather was a bit chilly for this mommy.
James, Mike, John, and Connor took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier in Juneau.  Connor loved hearing himself talk in the headphones.
The boys said this excursion was awesome.  The girls and little boys stayed in town and rode the tram to the top of the mountain in Juneau and explored the city.
In Kitchikan the entire family took a train ride on the White Pass trail.  When we got into Canada we then took a bus into Yukon.  This is one of my favorite pictures and the background is beautiful.
Caribou Crossing, Yukon, Canada...This stop was a fun little "farm" where the kids got to see the sled dogs being trained for the Iditarod.

Holding the puppies.  The boys had a hard time giving their turn up.  So sweet.
 Emerald Lake, Yukon, Canada
We traveled through Glacier Bay, Alaska.
At our stop in Skagway we really didn't have a plan and the four of us stumbled upon the Lumberjack show.  They performed log rolling, climbing, and, of course, sawing.  During one part of the show the teams were having a competition to see who could cut their log into a bunny rabbit.  "Our" team captain actually decapitated the bunny and turned it into a stool for Ian.  We did end up buying a large tote bag to bring this very  cool stool home with us.
Our team captain bringing Ian and the stool back to us:0)
 Victoria, Canada
We took a pedicab around the city and saw some amazing parks, homes, and churches.  This is in front of a little B&B.
Feeding the peacocks in the park with our guide Chris.

I highly recommend this trip if the opportunity ever comes up we will go again.  Gods Beauty at its finest....
