Easter 2009

Happy Easter friends and family. James, Connor and I had a very blessed Easter. Mom, dad, and Eric came down yesterday and stayed with us last night. We all got up and went to church this morning. Half way through church I got a page from the nursery, YEP Connor wouldn't stop crying. This separation anxiety thing is wearing me out. So I went and got him and he sat as quietly as a 1 1/2 year old can sit for 30 minutes. Eric, James, and I had pirate stickers all over our clothes. We came home hunted eggs, ate lunch, and put the little boy down for a 2 hour NAP!!!!

We had a few parties this past week and decorated eggs so here are pictures of our eventful week!!!
This morning after church.
James is showing Connor how to dip the eggs in the dye. Connor couldn't quite grasp the concept of gently in the bowl (meaning how he needed to put the egg in). I was afraid Connor would get dye all over his shirt, and I WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT!

Daddy and Connor with a prize egg.

"I found chocolate in one of my eggs, Mommy!"

This was the very first hunt, he was a little unsure of himself, but by today, he is a pro. He loves for James and I to hide eggs in the yard while he covers his eyes and then finds them.
Happy Easter!!!

Like Father, like Son

I was a little late on the 18 month apt. but I took Connor to get a Hep. A shot and have his well baby exam. He is 20 months old. He was a little whiny, but he did great. He is 36 in. tall (about the size of a "normal" 33 month old) and is weighing in at 31.4 pounds. Someone once told me that but the age of 2 you can almost double their height and that is how tall they will be. So we are right now looking at one tall sweet boy.

Here are a few pictures that I have taken over the past few weeks. He is growing up so well, and I am proud to say that he has slept in his bed now by himself without waking up for over a week. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

I recently got his hair cut. He has his daddy's thick hair, when there is no humidity it falls in his face. When it is short you can see the cow licks on his forehead!

We were playing soccer out back.

He is a little ham. He loves to kick the ball around the yard.

Here they are, mowing the grass together. Connor would followed James around the front and back yards. He had so much fun chasing DaDa.

Here the boys are again head to head. Connor won this mowing battle, but then again Connor wins ALL the battles. He is saying and doing so much right now, I am loving this age!!!

Washington D.C.

This past weekend James and I spent some time together taking in the sights. What a beautiful city full of history. Everyone talked about the walking, but I was still wiped!!! This small town girl even rode the subway. Connor stayed here with Nana for a few days, then Grandma came in and finished up the weekend. They said he did great, I knew he would, it was me I was worried about. I missed him, but it was nice to get away and spend time with James.
This was at the National Zoo. A fantastic place, one of the only places I would have taken Connor. They were giving the elephants a bath this morning. It was an incredible sight to see these huge animals rolling around the ground obeying the keepers. All for a simple treat!
This was the most amazing, breath-taking sight. The changing of the guards. James and I stayed for about and hour and a half. AWESOME!!! We were told that the day before the President was out handing out medals.
James purchased this piece of jewelry for me while we were there...hehehe

The tour guide said it was good luck to rub the ears of FDR's doggie. James rubbed his ears also, he just didn't want his picture taken (bah humbug)! This was the first night that I got there. Notice the flip flops and Washington sweatshirt. I was not prepared! I also purchased socks to wear. As soon as we got back on the trolley after each monument I would put them on...burr!

Here we are!! James would want me to add that not only did we see the monuments and memorials, but we also found every bathroom (via ME) in the CITY!!!!!

Connor 1 : Mommy 0

It's official, James and I converted Connor's crib to a daybed with sides this past weekend. I didn't change his sheets, his crib, or the fifty billion pacifiers that are in the bed, but the BOY has not Slept In his Bed the Past THREE NIGHTS by HIMSELF. He wants James or I on the floor with him. This is making me crazy, I love my bed, my pillow and my soft sheets. The floor is a far cry from that. I know that this is a transition period in our life, but I hope it's short. For those of you who know me, I love schedules. I need Connor to be predictable, and right now he is not. Last night I went in to kiss him goodnight and almost stepped on him, he decided that the floor is more comfy than his bed (I disagree, his floor is not comfy).

If any of you Mommy's out there have any advice I am in desperate need of it!!!

The bad news is James has left for Washington D.C. today, the good news is I am joining him on Friday for a short getaway together. Nana (my mom) will come in for a few days, then Grandma (James mom) will take over the final stretch and James and I will both be home on Monday afternoon. Hopefully those two women can get my son into the routine that I need and want.

I forgot how a lack of sleep affects daily life, but I am remembering quickly now. Hopefully some of you will have some advice to throw my way. Enjoy your week!!!!!!!!!!

19 Months Old

As a parent, I haven't figured out when to stop counting months for Connor's age. I'm pretty sure when he turns 2 that's IT!!! So for now he is 19 months old and here are the pictures we had made today. Connor is a busy little boy who loves to be outside doing whatever. Most days he is happy just dragging a stick around. He mimics words, does a lot of whining, and melts my heart. His new favorite thing to do is walk to the park and slide. We go almost everyday...sometimes more than once. I figure I better do things outside before it reaches 100 degrees. I will get pictures out as soon as I can.
It took a little warming up to the camera lady, but he got there. He is not to fond of the hat, but wearing it like Gomer Pile is his favorite. Nana and Papa got him new boots also!
James picked out the Easter outfit...he is a handsome little boy.
Gomer Pile...NOPE Connor Kelly!

I know that you can't see the bruises in these pictures, but we were healing from a rough encounter with the cement, then last night he "wiped Out" (Connor's loves to do) on his forehead. So now we have a red strawberry right between his eyes.

James and I love this picture. He is ready for the beach...and so am I!!!!

Well ,we hope that you enjoy the pictures. Have a great SUNDAY!!!

Win Kids Valentine's Party

This past Wednesday our PTA group visited Win Kids. The kiddos had a great time jumping, running, and going crazy. Pizza was ordered, the kids ate, and playing was resumed. We are going through a little bit of mommy separation anxiety so it took a little time for him to get warmed up to the idea of running and playing by himself, but he did!!!! He good buddies Hayden (Haydi, is was Connor calls him) and Ryan were there, he loves chasing them around.

He was a sweaty mess...but he loved being bounced, falling down, and playing hard.

Connor and Hayden EATING again. This seems to be the only way for them to sit still long enough to get their picture together.

"Help I can't get out!!!"

Bounce, bounce, and more bouncing.

He really did have a great time, I think he loves having his picture made as much as his daddy does. By the end of the play session, we had stripped the pants (check out those rosy red cheeks). He was a sweaty mess!!! He fell asleep as soon as his sweet head hit the car seat.

Working Hard

This past weekend James, Connor, and I met Mom, Dad, and Uncle Bubba at the farm. Dad is trying to get all the electricity installed so the contractors can finish dry walling and plumbing. So needless to say we were recruited. Mom took over watching Connor and making sure he didn't get hurt, while dad used James, Eric and I as laborers. Here are a few pictures of our time at the farm.

Sweet Connor playing in the dirt.

He was runnig to show Papa what happened to his hand when he fell down.

Look I can work...when I want to.

Taking a break to have a quick snack.

Check out my pants..."I have been working hard."
One of our Valentine parties was today, look for more pictures to come. Have a great day.
